West Ranch CA won the 3-mile Foothill League boys varsity opener by a 23-53 margin over Saugus at Central Park in Saugus, Calif. Isaiah Seidman won the race in 15:22.44, Evan Bates took second in 15:27.78, Hunter Romine placed third in 15:30.78 and Dylan Gatua took fifth in 15:32.4 for the Wildcats, who had Jonathan McDaniel secure 12th in 16:06.59. Brandon Arana was 19th in 16:42.34 and Barton Pida finished 27th in 17:11.47 for defending league champion West Ranch.
